PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) has announced its Holiday '09 Unwrapped campaign. The campaign, which includes a $25,000 Sweepstakes and value-added shopping promotions, is designed to stimulate shopping by providing consumers with excitement, unexpected value, and engagement, whether they are in one of PREIT's malls or visiting a mall website.

The campaign hallmark is a Holiday Sweepstakes, running from November 27 through December 13 and giving shoppers at each of PREIT's 39 properties a chance to win $25,000 cash. Shoppers redeem store receipts at Customer Service to enter. For every $75 spent, they get a chocolate bar--which, once unwrapped, reveals a contest entry form. An alternative form of entry is also available; complete contest rules are available at PREIT malls and their websites.

Every PREIT mall will select two semi-finalists each day and host an event to "unwrap" a single finalist. Finalists unwrap three gifts to see if they have won the $25,000 cash grand prize, $1,000 cash, or another prize. All semi-finalists receive qualifier prizes. There is the potential for a grand prize winner at each mall, totaling nearly $1 million in possible payouts.

A key element of Holiday '09 Unwrapped is an interactive holiday website, designed to "unwrap shopper stress." Mall home pages feature convenient links to a printable holiday checklist, trends and tips, mall hours, retailer promotions and coupons, and a shopping countdown clock. Website visitors can also send free Holiday eCards and Letters to Santa. Nearly half of PREIT malls now have a Facebook page that provides fans with daily updates and special shopping incentives.

Early shoppers will benefit from Black Friday specials including a 5 a.m. opening at each PREIT mall and the Sweepstakes kick-off. Many malls will offer free refreshments and entertainment. Starting December 14, PREIT's Holiday Gift Card Promotion rewards the purchase of three or more gift cards totaling at least $150 with an instant $10 mall gift card reward (while supplies last) through Christmas Eve.
