President of Council for Disability Awareness Announces Retirement

Robert Taylor Credited with Disability Awareness Leadership, Innovation

PORTLAND, Maine, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Council for Disability Awareness (CDA), a Portland, Maine-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness about the likelihood of becoming disabled and the need to prepare for the potential financial consequences, announced today that Robert G. Taylor will retire as President of the CDA, effective May 31, 2009.

Taylor, a 35-year veteran of the disability insurance industry, became the organization's first president when the CDA was established in 2005. Most recently, Taylor helped CDA launch an innovative new online tool, www.WhatsMyPDQ.org, which calculates an individual's own unique Personal Disability Quotient, or chances of becoming disabled.

According to Joseph R. Foley, chairman of the CDA Board of Directors, "We want to thank Bob for his leadership and contributions in establishing the CDA as the preeminent public resource for information about disability awareness, prevention and preparation. His knowledge, energy and passion will be missed."

The CDA will immediately begin searching for a new President, according to Foley.
