Presidio Graduate School Announces New Scholarship in Memorium of Alumnus Eric Sharp
SAN FRANCISCO, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Members of the Presidio Graduate School Admissions Committee announced today that they will offer a new scholarship in memory of alumnus Eric Sharp.
Sharp, who graduated in May of 2012 with a Masters in Public Administration, died only a few months later on November 1 after a brave battle with brain cancer. He was 39 years old.
Eric was interested in social justice and fighting the oppression that we see all around us, however subtle sometimes. He was known as the advocate for the underdog. He continually reminded his colleagues to seriously consider the vulnerable, the disadvantaged, and the quiet people who so often end up being negatively impacted by decision-making. Eric also had a particular interest in LGBT issues. Eric was keenly interested in stakeholder engagement, an area of work he hoped to pursue after graduation. He is remembered fondly and always by his classmates and the Presidio Community.
The new scholarship will award up to $3,000 to a new or returning MPA student who is passionate about social justice.
