SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Prevo Health Solutions, the leading wellness solutions provider to the private club industry, and Executive Producer of the America's Healthiest Club certification program, along with Norada Real Estate Investments, Inc., have formed and funded a new company, Global Growables, Inc.
Global Growables, Inc. designs, builds and manages indoor vertical farms made from recycled freight containers and has secured multiple locations to grow herbs, lettuces and greens on location at private clubs and on school properties with school districts in Los Angeles and Orange County California.
Rick Ladendorf, Founder, explains, "We partnered with Fit2beKids, a non-profit agency, to deliver a sustainable and scalable curriculum to fight childhood obesity with education and provide underserved kids with access to affordable healthy foods. The solution includes classroom and after-school curriculum all linked to a hydroponic indoor container garden which is placed on school property. Schools receive an annuity every month, a curriculum that teaches the kids culinary, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills that help prepare the kids to get a job or go to college, all without government assistance."
The Mobile Growable Unit (MGU) grows as much as an acre of land, uses 10% of the water and produces up to 15,000 pounds of fresh, pesticide free and nutrient dense food per year at significantly lower cost than big-ag. The MGU feeds the kids and their families fresh low-cost or free leafy-greens and herbs in the lunchroom and provides a mechanism to sell the crops at farmer's markets and to local chefs. The funds are used to pay for all the expenses and any excess cash can be used to fund other school programs.
Global Growables founder, Rick Ladendorf explains, "Our business model rewards the wealthy to invest in the community with an attractive financial return on investment that provides the less fortunate low-income families in public schools with affordable healthy food, education and hope. In just one case, we work with four public agencies and two private companies to improve the health and well-being of thousands of people living in underserved communities."
Marco Santarelli, Founder of Norada Real Estate Investments, adds, "Successful investing begins with the right investment property, and we see the Mobile Growable containers as investments that accomplish two objectives for our investors. The first of which is a sustainable ROI and the second is helping community members that are less fortunate. What makes the Mobile Growable unique is it is not funded by the government and yet it is sustainable with a recurring revenue stream."
The solution involves two components. The first of which is the Mobile Growable Container, which is set-up in the schoolyard at no cost to the school, and the second is the Fit2beKids "Seven Dimensions of Wellness" classroom and after-school curriculum. When done properly, the school educates, feeds and changes behavior while, as a bonus, receiving a consistent cash flow each month, to spend on whatever the school needs.
