NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Middle aged psychotherapist and author Rhonda Findling transforms herself into a lingerie model for Valentine's Day to demonstrate that middle aged women are sexy, beautiful and certainly "not invisible!"
A self-proclaimed feminist, Rhonda has always used her intelligence, mind and writing skills to express her ideas, thoughts, feelings and creativity. She decided as a "middle aged" woman in a society so focused on youth to send a political and cultural message that middle aged women are indeed visible, sexy and visually exciting to look at. She attempted to accomplish this by having photos taken of her pretending to be a Victoria's Secret lingerie model and putting them together in this Valentine's Day video. This was the first time that Rhonda ever used her body, physicality and appearance to express herself as an artist.
As a self-empowered and financially self-sufficient woman Rhonda also wanted to show that being visually sexy does not have to mean or imply that a woman is "a victim" or a "sex object." And that a woman can be a true feminist while a visually sexy woman at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.
Rhonda's project was inspired by several feminist artists including Orlan, Portia Munson and Martha Wilson.
Rhonda is the author of several pop psychology books including "Don't Call That Man! A Survival Guide to Letting Go," "Don't Text That Man! A Guide To Self Protective Dating in the Age of Technology," and "When He Can't Commit: What To Do When You Fall For An Ambivalent Man."
Rhonda is also the host, producer and co-editor of "The Help Me Rhonda Show" webseries/docushort which is currently available on Vimeo and an "official selection" in several web festivals in 2017. (https://vimeo.com/182886308)
