/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Ending violence against women: IDRC speaks up/
OTTAWA, Nov. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is taking to social media for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence (#16Days) campaign.
Hear from men and women in Canada and around the globe as IDRC asks: How do we put an end to violence against women?
Hear from experts who have fought to restore Egypt's tradition of public safety for women; who have worked toward the decline of Bangladesh's 'missing daughters'; who have fought female genital mutilation in Senegal; and who spoke up on sexual violence against women at India's game-changing Verma Committee.
#16Days marks the kick-start of an international campaign that opens on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25 and runs until Human Rights Day on December 10. As part of #16 days, Canada also observes the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6.
