Rachel Tischler Named USO Vice President of Entertainment Operations
ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The USO is pleased to announce the promotion of Rachel Tischler to vice president of entertainment operations. As vice president, Tischler will direct the USO Celebrity Entertainment Program, which delivers first-class entertainment to U.S. military and their families stationed overseas and stateside. With more than 19 years of experience in entertainment, Tischler spearheaded renowned plays and musicals prior to joining the USO in 2004. She served as a general and company management associate for Broadway's musical productions of "Gypsy," "Flower Drum Song," and "The Lion King," along with the smash hit, "Mamma Mia!" "I am so excited to serve as the USO's vice president of entertainment operations," said Tischler. Additionally, she served as associate managing director at Yale Repertory Theater; first assistant stage manager at both the Cincinnati Opera and Opera Company of Philadelphia; and production stage manager at South Coast Repertory's Young Conservatory. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.; a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago; and a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale University School of Drama in New Haven, Conn.
