CAMBRIDGE, U.K., May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Gate Software announced
today that it is making SQL Prompt, a universal add-in for SQL Server,
available at no charge. The add-in, acquired from Atadore, provides
Intellisense for the Microsoft SQL Server editors Query Analyzer,
Management Studio and Visual Studio. SQL Prompt is a simple way to make the
creation of SQL queries faster and more accurate.
"SQL Prompt will provide code autocompletion for everyone who works
with SQL Server," said Simon Galbraith, joint-CEO at Red Gate. "Whichever
of the three big editors people use, they can come straight to
www.red-gate.com and download SQL Prompt. We're making SQL Prompt
completely free until September 1, 2006. We are planning on charging for
version 3 in September so we will have to significantly improve the tool,
since we'll be competing with our free version."
"Red Gate and I have the same goal for SQL Prompt: to make the lives of
SQL Server professionals easier by providing an SQL Intellisense add-in for
fast and accurate script building," said Damian Mehers, CEO of Atadore.
"Red Gate is the only company that I would trust to take SQL Prompt to the
next stage. I know Red Gate will put the same testing efforts and pride
into this tool as it puts into all of its products, so that the end-product
will be as strong as it can possibly be."
SQL Prompt is available free to all as a download from
http://www.red-gate.com until September 1, 2006. Upon additional customer
feedback, further development and a period of relentless testing, the
company will release version 3 in Q3 2006.
