Replenish Multi-Surface Cleaner Honored With Bronze International Design Excellence Award in the Category of Packaging & Graphics
Reusable Cleaning System Design Recognized by Design Competition sponsored by IDSA, Dow Corning, Microsoft and The Henry Ford
LOS ANGELES, July 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Replenish, maker of an ultra-concentrated Multi-Surface Cleaner in a Reusable Bottle System, today announces that it has been honored with a Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA®) in the category of Packaging & Graphics.
Replenish's all-in-one bottle allows consumers to measure, mix with water, store and spray naturally powerful cleaners using replaceable Concentrate Pods, instead of buying pre-mixed cleaners in disposable bottles that are almost 95 percent water. By not shipping water and designing for reuse, Replenish reduces energy, plastic waste and carbon dioxide emissions by 90 percent and saves consumers 50 percent over traditional pre-mixed cleaners.
"We are so honored to be recognized by the foremost award in the design community," said Replenish CEO and founder Jason Foster. "Leveraging design principles to rethink the way we package and consume household goods has been a main pillar of Replenish's success."
Launched in late 2010, Replenish has been actively working with McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) reinventing cleaning product packaging with a smarter, reusable design. As a result of their continuous relationship, Replenish Multi-Surface Cleaner has been Cradle to Cradle Certified(CM) Gold, marking it as one of the safest and most sustainable household cleaners available on the market.
The 2011 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA®) program is a celebration of design excellence in products, sustainability, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts. This year the competition received a record amount of entries breaking the 2,000 mark since it began 31 years ago.
Out of 524 finalists, 27 were honored with the Gold Award, while 68 received the Silver Award and 96 won the Bronze Award. Additionally, the program received a record amount of student entries.
IDSA will announce the Best in Show, Curator's Choice, People's Choice and the Responsibility Awards at the IDEA ceremony on Sept. 17 at its 2011 International Conference in New Orleans.
