LAS VEGAS, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Riviera Hotel & Casino, home of
Frank Sinatra's last permanent engagement in Las Vegas, will honor the
legendary singer/entertainer by dedicating one its exclusive hotel suites
where Sinatra regularly stayed while he performed at the resort.
"The Riviera Hotel & Casino management and its employees are deeply
saddened by the passing of Francis Albert Sinatra. He was truly a legend in
the world of entertainment. Whenever he performed at the Riviera, his
presence alone electrified both the staff and management of the resort and the
thousands of fans he entertained. The "Chairman of the Board" will be missed
tremendously by his millions of fans throughout the world as well as all of us
 at the Riviera."
The dedication of the suite will include an engraved plaque on the door
 and a 16 x 20 framed photograph of 0l' Blue Eyes inside the two-bedroom
Penthouse suite. Located in the Monaco Tower, Suite 2902 is where Sinatra
stayed when he performed at the Riviera. The suite was redesigned to
Sinatra's specifications in 1990. Sinatra performed twice at the Riviera in
1990, including New Year's Eve. He also sang to sold-out audiences during a
four-day engagement in 1991 and brought in the New Year of 1992 when he played
to a standing-room-only audience of more than 2,000 fans in the hotel's
 Superstar Theatre.
In addition, the hotel will honor Sinatra in its Mardi Gras Entertainment
Plaza where a framed photo of the Chairman of the Board will oversee a collage
of historical photographs of the many great stars who have appeared at the
 Riviera over past 41 years.
The Riviera is also initiating and coordinating a rare darkening of the
famed Las Vegas Strip lights with the Las Vegas News Bureau.
