Robert T. Kovalesky Sr. Named Executive Vice President and General Manager of News America Marketing Merchandising Services

    NEW YORK, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert T. Kovalesky Sr. has been named
 Executive Vice President and General Manager of News America Marketing
 Merchandising Services, a subsidiary of News Corporation (NYSE:   NWS, NWS.A),
 announced NAM Chairman and Chief Executive Paul V. Carlucci.
     Mr. Kovalesky will be responsible for all aspects of the in-store
 marketing and merchandising programs the Company provides for Fortune 500
 packaged goods manufacturers and retailers.

 area ,  which offers the industry's most comprehensive range of products and
 services for manufacturers and retailers to cost-effectively increase sales."
     Mr. Kovalesky was promoted from his previous position as Senior Vice
 President, Regional Sales Manager for News America Marketing's SmartSource
 Magazine and In-Store programs and services.  He joined the Company in 1992 as
 Group Sales Manager for the national launch of the Coupon Machine Program.
     Prior to joining News America Marketing, Mr. Kovalesky was Vice President,
 Sales & Marketing Consulting with Glendinning Associates, which specialized in
 strategic Category Management, Customer Marketing and Trade Promotion
 Productivity plans. He began his career in sales with Procter & Gamble, where
 he held increasingly significant sales and management positions.
