Roberts Hawaii And GreenCar Partner To Take Cars Off The Road
HONOLULU, Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Roberts Hawaii and GreenCar are partnering to provide visitors to Poipu, Kauai, with a more sustainable, full-circle transportation solution with an express shuttle to and from the airport and car-sharing at the hotel. This partnership is designed for visitors who are seeking convenience, affordability and a greener Hawaii.
Roberts Hawaii's new express shuttle provides transportation from Lihue Airport to accommodations in Poipu Resort including the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club, and Koa Kea Hotel and Resort where visitors have self-serve access to GreenCar to rent green cars by the hour when they need them.
"We're excited to partner with a progressive company like GreenCar and one of Hawaii's leading visitor destinations to offer a greener, more convenient and pleasant service for visitors to Kauai," said Roy Cordeiro, vice president of sales and marketing strategy for Roberts Hawaii. "Our airport shuttles on other islands have been very well received, not only for their reliability and service, but because our customers receive a personalized island-style welcome and assistance with their luggage from the time they arrive."
"It's a more convenient, full service transportation alternative for Poipu that takes cars off the road," notes Warren Doi, co-founder with Justin MacNaughton of GreenCar. "Our customers have been grateful for the convenience of an on-demand rental service, the cost savings of paying only for a car when they need it, the experience of driving clean-energy vehicles and an opportunity to help keep Kauai green. Adding the shuttle service makes their visit to Poipu so much easier."
Roberts Hawaii's express shuttle to Poipu Resort is a reservation-based service. In addition to ground transportation to and from the airport and Poipu, guests are greeted in person by a Roberts Hawaii representative at Lihue Airport, presented with a shell lei and provided luggage assistance onto the shuttle.
Hotels are offering the Roberts Hawaii express shuttle service and GreenCar as an extension of their online booking service. The resort hotels and the Poipu Beach Resort Association (PBRA) include branded portals on their websites to help visitors understand their options.
"We are happy to support this convenient transportation solution to our visitors. An express shuttle to Poipu, coupled with the on-demand hourly green car rental capability, is a great boost to the Poipu resorts and helps us meet our sustainability goals," said Jody Kjeldsen, PBRA's executive director.
