HEALDSBURG, Calif., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- It's all about the vineyards
for the Rochiolis. Always has been. Now, oenophiles around the world can
gain fresh insight into how the family's patch of the Russian River Valley
produces such amazing wines by visiting the new Rochioli Vineyards & Winery
website, which includes an interactive map of their 162-acre estate.
The site can be visited at
"When you get down to it, we're farmers," said Tom Rochioli. "What's
special about our wines and the wines that others make from our grapes is
the unique character of this property. It runs through the wines from
 vintage to vintage."
Tom is the third generation of Rochioli to make his living off this
Russian River Valley land. Beginning in 1938, Joe Rochioli Sr. farmed
primarily hops and beans. Then in the late 1950s, Joe Rochioli Jr.
convinced his father to allow him to try something new-premium varietals.
From that first, revolutionary planting of Sauvignon Blanc, Joe Jr. built
one of the world's great wine estates. Today, Joe Jr. continues to oversee
the vineyards while son Tom focuses on the winemaking.
Rochioli produces Estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as
well as small quantities of highly sought single-vineyard bottlings of
Pinot Noir (Three Corner, Little Hill, West Block, East Block) and
Chardonnay (River Block, Sweetwater, South River, Rachael's). The map page
on the website provides photographs and detailed information on all the
Rochioli vineyard blocks, including acreage, the year the vines were
 planted and clonal selection.
In addition, the Rochioli website offers general historical background
on the winery, as well as wine notes, tasting-room information and the
opportunity to sign up for "The List," the coveted waiting list for
 single-vineyard wines.
Rochioli Vineyards & Winery's Estate wines are represented nationally
