LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Christopher Wicks, designer and owner of Rock & Roll Religion, sets the stage to launch the menswear collection, Designs Inspired by the Art of JOHN LENNON by English Laundry. The official, licensed collection derived from artwork, personal style, and overall essence of one of the most iconic and influential rock and roll figures of all time, launches for Holiday 2009 with a full collection debuting for Spring 2010.

As the designer and owner of brands such as English Laundry, Fender: The Clothing Collection, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Weiland for English Laundry and English Heroes, featuring lyrics from Lennon/McCartney, Mr. Wicks melds music and fashion into inspired clothing collections to reflect modern-day, wearable vignettes of rock and roll history.

Designs Inspired by the Art of JOHN LENNON is a collection for both the Lennon fan and the fashion guru. Colors, silhouettes and collar shapes are based on his own wardrobe from the 60s and 70s, with detailing derived from his artwork. Elements of Lennon's drawings are incorporated in packaging, hang tags, neck labels, accents on a sleeve, inside a jacket or pronounced on a tee shirt. His "Give Peace a Chance" theme is a prominent message and design throughout the collection.

The sophisticated menswear collection channels "what John wore, incorporated with his art" through a variety of wovens, t-shirts, and blazers. Woven shirts are designed with hand-laundered, textured fabrications and elegant cuts, tees are made with soft, organic cotton and blazers are characterized with clean lines for a sharp, well-cut look from the 60s.

Retail price points range from $30 - $170 for tee shirts and woven shirts with targeted distribution to better department and specialty stores. The collection can be found at English Laundry stores beginning in December 2009 on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, on Nanjing Road in Shanghai, Macy's Herald Square in New York City, as well as on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills: opening this Friday, November 13th!
