Rodale Inc. And BermanBraun Launch "Tasted" Food Channel On YouTube Joint Venture Builds on Success from Fitness Channel "3V"
NEW YORK, July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rodale Inc., global healthy lifestyle publisher, and BermanBraun, an independent media company that creates cross-platform entertainment, today announced the launch of their second YouTube channel, Tasted, featuring fresh, fun and informative programming on all things food. Tasted brings viewers a start-to-finish perspective on food from the people that grow, cook and eat it, with helpful how-to cooking tips from food trucks to four-star hot-spots. The channel is a joint venture between Rodale and BermanBraun, launching on the heels of the success of their first channel, 3V, which has already reached over 1.2 million views.
Tasted merges Rodale's expertise in the food industry with BermanBraun's creation of compelling entertainment. Rodale has a strong food heritage, featuring popular recipe content across it's award-winning media properties and publishing hundreds of best-selling food books and cookbooks from their books division, including: Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet, The Sweet Life from Top Chef Cheftestant Sam Talbot, Modern Hospitality from Master Chef winner Whitney Miller and Start Fresh from Food Network's Tyler Florence.
"Tasted gives us a great new outlet to bring innovative and exciting food content to people who are passionate about what they eat and where it comes from," said Maria Rodale, Chairman & CEO, Rodale Inc. "As a digital publisher, it is rewarding to create entertaining and engaging gourmet video content."
"Creating video featuring the best in food and entertainment falls right into the sweet spot of both Rodale and BermanBraun," said Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun of BermanBraun. "Audiences are hungry for more food content, and we're poised to provide it through Tasted."
Shows on Tasted will capture the nostalgia and passion of the craft, the lush visuals and rich sounds of a busy kitchen, and the intricacies of a meal that carries personal resonance for a chef. Programming already underway for Tasted includes:
- Cultural Kitchen: Highlights favorite or nostalgic dishes from popular food bloggers and chefs such as Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Top Chef Cheftestant Dale Talde, Luis Bollo and Maangchi.
- Dude Food: Dinosaur BBQ's John Stage answers culinary questions from dudes everywhere, ranging from "how to impress a date" to "what to BBQ for vegetarians."
- Amazing Food Tricks: Animated show featuring Jill Urban with helpful tips on using food beyond sustenance, such as cleaning a microwave with a lemon or using bread to clean up broken glass.
- 7 Questions in the Kitchen: Highlights popular chefs and food experts answering questions from their very own kitchens for a sneak peek behind the scenes of great culinary artistry.
- Hot Guys in the Kitchen: Featuring attractive men giving simple kitchen tips, this show is as much about the "eye candy" as the information being presented.
- Why Would You Eat That: Blends history, cuisine, and just plain "gross foods" by scouring the globe for its weirdest delicacies and then trying to answer the question, "Why Would You Eat That?"
