Romarco returns 36.6 meters of 8.0 g/t Au expands mineralization between zones

SPARKS, NV, July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSXV: R) (the "Company") is pleased to announce recent assay results from its Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina, USA.

RC-1546 encountered 36.6 meters (120 feet) of 8.0 g/t gold (0.234 opt) including 9 meters (30 feet) of 19.7 g/t gold (0.576 opt) and intersected the mineralized zone between two previously known deposits - Ledbetter and Snake which had previously not been drilled. The mineralization encountered in RC-1546 is 130 meters east of the Ledbetter deposit and 210 meters northwest of the Snake deposit. The mineralization was hosted in typical Haile silicified metasediments. Romarco's team is focusing additional drilling to identify the extent of this zone and its impact on the currently proposed pit shapes. The results are summarized in the following table:

Diane Garrett, President and CEO stated "These drill results combined with other results to date emphasize the continued growth of the Haile Gold Mine and corroborate our view that the three known deposits are trending toward coalescing into one deposit. We are particularly excited with the higher grades we are encountering outside known deposit areas (see press release dated July 13, 2009 as well as the results posted today) which add to the overall enhanced economics of the project. Please visit the Company's website at www.romarco.com for updated maps and locations of recent drilling.

The Company has four reverse circulation drill rigs working on site. The 2009 drilling program consists of step-out drilling to identify new resources and expand the known mineralized zone, in-fill drilling to convert inferred resources into measured and indicated, and condemnation drilling to test for gold mineralization under proposed plant and facility sites. The current mineralized zone remains open in all directions and at depth.

The drill cuttings were shipped to Inspectorate Labs in Sparks, Nevada for assay. Control samples were submitted with the drill samples. The control samples consisted of blanks and third party standards. Standards with variance greater than 20 percent warrant that the batch be re-assayed. All of the blanks and control samples submitted with this hole were within acceptable ranges. The Company's Q.P. is Tom Kilbey, Sr. Geologist for Romarco.

Romarco Minerals Inc. is a gold development company focused on production in the US and Mexico. The Company's flagship project is the Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina which is currently undergoing exploration drilling and permitting. The Pinos Gold District in Mexico is a high grade epithermal vein district that is in the advanced exploration stage.
