Run Women Run Endorses Seven Candidates for San Diego Elections
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Run Women Run (RWR), a San Diego based political action committee, voted to endorse seven candidates running for positions in San Diego County at its endorsement meeting on Thursday, November 14, 2013.
The RWR endorsed candidates and the positions they are seeking are:
Sarah Boot, San Diego City Council District 2
Myrtle Cole, San Diego City Council District 4
Carol Kim, San Diego City Council District 6
Bonnie Dumanis, San Diego County District Attorney
Mary Salas, Mayor of Chula Vista
Olga Diaz, Mayor of Escondido
Nora Vargas, Southwestern College Board of Trustees
"Our endorsed candidates represent more than qualified, electable women candidates. They are leaders for both the present and the future with the ability to create the changes that our region and country need," said Jamie Quient, co-chair of the Run Women Run's Political Action Committee.
"We know that having more women in elected office enhances the discussion and leads to better outcomes. For example, it was the women in Congress who led the resolution of the recent federal government shutdown."
