Russell Simmons Kicks Off Partnership with Bounty and Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation
CINCINNATI, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday in New York City, Procter & Gamble's Bounty brand announced its partnership with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation by launching the Building Bounty-ful Bridges Program with Russell Simmons and the support of his celebrity friend, Mary J. Blige. On hand to kick off the program were students from PS 165, a school based in the Upper West Side of NY, which is a partner in Rush Philanthropic's "Gallery in the Schools" Program.

Through Bounty's partnership with Rush Philanthropic, children across the country will be able to express their creativity by creating a large-scale collaborative painting that "bridges" them creatively with others across the country. This is in perfect sync with Bounty's mission to provide children with hands-on fun activities that nurture their creativity and curiosity.
To bring this program to life, Director of Education at Rush, Meridith McNeal, and featured artist, Amanda Williams, have collaborated with youth groups in six U.S. cities to promote artistic expression and bridge communities together. From New York, the program will travel to Chicago, San Francisco, Washington D.C., New Orleans, and Cincinnati.
"Bounty is a brand committed to encouraging curiosity, creativity and spontaneity, and we recognize the benefits of learning outside the classroom," said Eric Higgs, brand manager, Bounty. "Given the creative work and hands-on approach Rush Philanthropic has already taken with kids around the country, they make a great partner in bringing this program to life."
"Art is a great platform to unleash the imagination," said Russell Simmons, chairman and co-founder of Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and hip-hop pioneer. "The Building Bounty-ful Bridges program is a great opportunity for youth throughout the country to express themselves through the arts."
All of the youth group paintings will come together at the end of the program creating the Building Bounty-ful Bridges Mural. The final work of art will be unveiled on October 28th at Rush Arts Gallery in Chelsea.
