SAIC Awarded $160 Million Task Order by Naval Sea Systems Command
Company to Provide Engineering Support to the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems
MCLEAN, Va. and SAN DIEGO, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a prime contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) with engineering support services. The task order has a one-year base period of performance, a one-year option, three one-year award terms, and a total value of more than $160 million if all options and awards are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Washington, D.C. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SeaPort-e contract.
NAVSEA engineers build and support the U.S. Navy's fleet of ships and combat systems. PEO IWS is responsible for managing surface ship and submarine combat technologies and systems. Under the task order, the SAIC team will provide enterprise solutions for functional areas of systems engineering, ship integration and product development. They will also help oversee the design, construction and maintenance of surface ships. In addition, SAIC will provide support in areas including foreign military sales and surge requirements and provide direct support to the System Integration Program Managers (SIPMs) as well.
