Sakthivel Alagappan Sets His Sights on Changing Malaysian Parliament through His Life's Mission
Sakthivel Alagappan plans to use his humble beginnings to relate to the common voter in Kapar.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Sakthivel Alagappan, known more commonly as just Sakthivel, was born the youngest son to Alagappan and Letchumy in Kampung, Malaysia, Sungai Besi on 6 March 1970. When his mother died he was raised singlehandedly by his father and therefore his early days were those of much hardship. He struggled through poverty but managed to maintain excellent school results. Sakthivel Alagappan was determined to serve the community in any way possible through helping his father's 'kacang putih' business or teaching to further supplement his family's income. It is his drive to help the community that takes him to parliament.
He went on to gain experience in a wide array of professions from education to engineering to business ventures. However Sakthivel Alagappan's true passion of politics gained momentum when he became the assistant secretary for the MIC Serdang Division in 1997. From there he quickly went up the ranks to become the secretary of the division in 2000. His continued professionalism and dedication to service of the community lead to Sakthivel Alagappan being conferred with the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) and the Pingat Kessatria Mangku Negara (KMN) from His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong.
Sakthivel Alagappan is also an excellent negotiator that strives to uphold the interests of all people, regardless of social strata, while taking the time to understand the issues of all sides. He is quite impassioned to help students in need of financial aid who he helps reach their dreams by providing them educational opportunities. He holds the belief that one of the best ways to uplift the society of Malaysia as whole will be to improve the education level.
