San Francisco Bay Area Deploys Digital Sandbox Risk Analysis Center

San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose included in the Bay Area Urban Area Security Initiative

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Sandbox, Inc., a leading provider of analytic risk management software and services, announced that the Bay Area Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) is implementing a risk management and risk mitigation strategy built around the company's Risk Analysis Center (RAC) solution suite. The engagement includes RAC managed services for an initial term of 36 months, during which time the Bay Area UASI will have full access to RAC applications and risk management consulting expertise.

Declared in January, 2006 by the federal government, the Bay Area UASI includes the urban areas of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, along with 10 surrounding counties. The Bay Area is home to three international airports, six professional sports teams, and the fourth-busiest port in the United States.

"Along with being an obviously asset-rich region, the Bay Area is home to more than seven million residents," said Teresa Serata, Director of Strategy and Grant Compliance, Bay Area UASI. "Ensuring their well being while protecting the area's industries and infrastructure is the reason why we're implementing the RAC."

"The RAC is providing the Bay Area with a powerful, proven risk assessment and threat management solution," explained Digital Sandbox President Anthony Beverina. "Its ability to recognize potential hazards, prioritize response, and better protect the jurisdiction's citizens and assets has been proven time and again in areas all over the United States. Digital Sandbox is privileged to provide the same advantages to San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and their surrounding communities."

Digital Sandbox provides analytic tools and information products to government agencies and large enterprises, enabling them to optimize their strategic, policy, and budgetary decisions for risk-based resource allocation. Since 1998, Digital Sandbox's analytic risk management solutions have helped customers in the National Security, Homeland Security, and Corporate Security fields to lower their risk exposure, increase their risk management budgets, and maximize their finite resources.
