    CHICAGO, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- For countless generations, family and
 friends have gathered around the kitchen table to share stories and bond over
 their favorite foods.
     Now Sargento, a family-owned company, wants to give those same people a
 once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their cherished recipes published in a
 cookbook by inviting them to share their stories with the rest of the country.
     Co-sponsored with Bon Appetit, and in cooperation with Emmy-winning chef
 Michael Chiarello and the celebrated Culinary Institute of America at
 Greystone in California's Napa Valley, Sargento is searching for the best
 kitchen chronicles. Whether it's about making homemade pizza for friends, or
 the best mac 'n' cheddar recipe served at the annual potluck gathering, the
 Wisconsin-based company wants to hear how your culinary creations bring
 family, friends and the community together.

     The nationwide search, which participants may enter beginning April 8th
 through May 31st, will be narrowed to three finalists. That trio will each
 receive round-trip airfare for two to St. Helena, Calif. and hotel and ground
 accommodations to participate in a live cook-off before a distinguished panel
 of judges including Chiarello.
     People may enter the search on their own, as a family or even as a
 community. All entries should highlight a favorite original recipe that uses
 Sargento sliced or shredded natural cheese, with an essay limited to 400 words
 describing what makes your cheese recipes special and who they bring together.
     The winner of the search will be declared the grand prize winner, and have
 their personal cheese favorites published in a cookbook bearing the winner's
 name, courtesy of Sargento. The winner will also receive copies of the book to
 share with family and friends, plus bragging rights for a long time!
