VICTOR, N.Y., May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Savoye/Retrotech have been rated as the 19th best systems supplier in the world for 2014 by Modern Materials Handling (Modern) magazine.
The company, which serves Fortune 1000 companies in the material-handling industry, earned its coveted position amongst the world's top 20, by recording $131 million in revenue. This is the second time in the last three years that they have made the coveted ranking.
Remy Jeannin, CEO of Savoye commented, "Making it on to Modern magazine's list of top 20 systems suppliers in the world for 2014 in a highly competitive market is great news for our company. It shows the commitment our global team has to developing, manufacturing and delivering material handling systems, solutions and services of the highest standards to clients located in more than 22 countries based on their very specific requirements."
Modern reports that growth in the market is being driven by a number of factors. This includes a growth in mergers and acquisitions, companies growing their bottom line, and a hunger for automation, which is being driven by e-fulfillment. The revenue of the top 20 companies in 2011 surged by 26%. Growth of 2% was recorded in 2012 and this was surpassed by 6.5% in 2013. In fiscal terms there has been a growth of more than $4 billion from $11.4 billion to $15.6 billion in the period 2010-2013.
"2013 was a phenomenal year and 2014 has gotten off to an exciting start for us," said Retrotech Chief Executive Officer Paul Deveikis. "Not only have we been placed on Modern's global list of the top 20 systems suppliers, we have also begun work on a new, $5.5 million facility that allows us to further expand our highly skilled workforce and accommodate the increasing needs of our customers. We are very proud of the contributions made by our North American operation to the ongoing success of Savoye."
The requirements to be considered for Modern's Top 20 list are very specific. Only worldwide suppliers are eligible and they must not only have a presence in North America, but they must be prepared to disclose their income from material handling to the publication. In addition, companies must supply equipment and material handling systems and produce a minimum of two key components of handling system. Employee requirements are also specified. Companies need a full-time workforce who are tasked with design, installation and integration of material handling systems.
