ScreenUsed.com sets a second world record with Star Wars clapperboard
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ScreenUsed.com sets a second world record with the selling price of an original clapperboard, also known as a camera slate. ScreenUsed is one of a few dealers worldwide that sells movie and television props and wardrobe as collectibles. They have been in business since 2003, selling exclusively on their website. However, in July of 2012 they held their first on-line auction. During that auction, they achieved a world record price of $26,550 (US) for the sale of a clapperboard used in the movie Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The clapperboard was unique as the name of the movie placed on the item was "Blue Harvest", which was the secret name for filming of Return of the Jedi at the time.
