SDForum Presents Tech Titans of Tomorrow: Teens Plugged In Conference

Teen Tech Titans Event Offers Insight Into How Teens Are Changing the Face of Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- SDForum, Silicon Valley's leading source of information and education in the technology community, today announced the agenda and speakers for the third annual Tech Titans of Tomorrow: Teens Plugged in Conference to be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 8:45 AM - 4:45 PM at the HP Auditorium in Palo Alto.

"This event highlights teens who represent the 'Digital Native' generation, whose lives have been steeped in the Internet and mobile phones," said Debra Brackeen, HP Vice President of Strategic Alliances. "HP is proud to host SDForum's Tech Titans of Tomorrow because it provides a first-hand opportunity to explore how teens are shaping the tech industry and starting companies younger than ever."

"Teens have created a new world via social media and social networking. They are becoming a leading indicator for a host of emerging technologies and are highly capable of fostering innovation along the way," said Sergio Monsalve, Principal at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and keynote for the event. "SDForum's Tech Titans of Tomorrow provides the teens of Silicon Valley with a meeting place where they can exchange ideas and learn about entrepreneurship. The event also offers the tech community an interactive forum to better understand what is hot and what is not among teens."

Teens, and students of all ages, are constantly linked through multiple means of technologies, including Facebook, Twitter, texting, Instant Messenger and mobile phones. With their knowledge of social networking, teens will join corporate executives, not-for-profits, venture capitalists and teenage entrepreneurs for an enthralling day where brilliant teens give insight to adults who are trying to speculate where this generation will lead them.

"When you grow up living and breathing entrepreneurship and innovation it is only natural to want to jump in and take the plunge," said Jeff Seibert, President and COO of Increo Solutions, a young entrepreneur presenting at the event. "SDForum's Tech Titans of Tomorrow is the only conference where investors are listening to how young people are using technology, starting companies and writing software to address their own needs."

This is the third year SDForum has organized an event directed towards the ideas and achievements of students interested and encompassed by technology. Both high school and college students have the chance to express themselves and present their business and product pitches to a panel of venture capitalists and investors to give the students a greater opportunity to stretch their ideas and to receive plentiful feedback.

"After last year's event, some teens received venture capitalist funding for their contemporary business ideas leaving students hopeful and excited for this year's conference," said Susan Lucas-Conwell, CEO of SDForum. "Tech Titans of Tomorrow is an opportunity to celebrate youth in innovation and encourage the next generation in their efforts for a more advanced society."
