WASHINGTON and WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- SDV Solutions, Inc., in partnership with Visual Systems Group Inc. (VSGi), was recently awarded a SAVES contract worth up to $15 million to provide video conferencing systems to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The contract supports the FAA's IT Cost Control Program, which aims to reduce expenses by using video conferencing as an alternative to travel. Under the contract, SDV Solutions and VSGi will deliver solutions from Polycom, Tandberg and Smart Technologies, including installation and maintenance support services. Leveraging technology from these manufacturers, the contract team will deliver services designed to standardize the FAA's technology platform and ensure equipment compatibility.
"As a service-disabled veteran-owned small-business, SDV Solutions consistently delivers a high level of IT support through our dedicated account managers. Combined with the video-conferencing expertise of our partner VSGi, our project team offers a synergy that delivers significant value to federal customers like the FAA," said President Mike McMahan.
Building on Past Performance
The $15 million video-conferencing contract (DTFACT-09-D-00016) is in addition to a FAA SAVES contract awarded to SDV Solutions in 2006 for large panels, monitors, scanners and projectors worth up to $10 million.
Successful past performance on former FAA contracts and established business relationships were part of the agency's selection criteria.
"As existing contract holders, both SDV Solutions and VSGi have great relationships with the FAA," said Donald K. Jones, CEO of VSGi. "Our shared mission is to build on our experience and expertise by delivering turnkey conferencing solutions to help the FAA further its mission of consolidation and standardization while increasing productivity and reducing capital expenditures."
