NEW YORK, Aug. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SecurityScorecard™ (www.securityscorecard.com), the leading solution for security-risk benchmarking, announced the appointment of Steve Thomas as Director of Sales Engineering and Business Development. In this newly created position, Thomas will be responsible for applying his extensive technical security engineering background to build more opportunities across business development and help the company to continue to provide exceptional pre- and post-customer support services. He will report to SecurityScorecard's VP of Sales, Scott Schneider.

"Steve brings a wealth of security and sales knowledge to SecurityScorecard which will enhance our already stellar sales, business development, and engineering teams," said Dr. Aleksandr Yampolskiy, co-founder and CEO of SecurityScorecard. "He is already making a positive impact with our team, with prospects, and our Fortune 1000 customer base."

He has had stints at Innography and worked for several different divisions of IBM, as an international technical sales consultant.

"SecurityScorecard has true security DNA; Any company can come up with security ratings," Yampolskiy continued. "But only former CISOs who have real-world experience running security day-to-day can build the right product to help manage risks that third party vendors pose to companies. Steve's security experience and insight into the problems of today's challenging risk environment will further our security DNA foundation."
