ELIZABETH, N.J., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- ShopRite has always been an innovator in the loyalty programs it brings to the marketplace. Its latest foray, ShopRite for OnePass(R) Miles, is a strategic partnership with Continental Airlines that consumers are sure to benefit from. ShopRite teamed up with the Continental Airlines OnePass frequent flyer program to offer its Price Plus club(R) members (ShopRite's loyalty card) OnePass miles for dollars spent at any ShopRite. The 26-week program is available in ShopRite stores throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware. This is the first time ShopRite has offered a customer program that gives frequent flyer airline miles as the reward. "We believe this program will show our customers that we value their business," said Joe Sheridan, executive vice president, Wakefern Food Corporation. "At ShopRite, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to say 'thanks' and add value to shopping our stores." "Given each of our companies' market leadership in the Northeast, partnering with ShopRite is ideal for us," said Mark Bergsrud, vice president of marketing, Continental Airlines. "Not only does this program help us each reach new customers, it provides new mileage earning opportunities for our existing customers in this region." In the first four days of the program, thousands of customers have already signed up for the ShopRite for OnePass Miles program. Here's how the program works: customers enroll their Price Plus club card and OnePass number at http://www.shoprite.com or in a ShopRite store. Shoppers qualify after reaching $500 for the 1-mile per $2 spent. Dollars spent reaching this amount also earn shoppers 250 miles. "This is a wonderful opportunity for our customers," said Mr. Sheridan. "Now they can build-up their miles just by doing their regular grocery shopping at ShopRite. And, this partnership with Continental helps make it possible." The ShopRite for OnePass Miles program is scheduled to run through July 19th. Full details can be found in the stores or on the website at http://www.shoprite.com.
