ST. GEORGE, Utah, Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest, Inc., (Nasdaq: SKYW) ("SkyWest") SkyWest reported a 59.3 percent increase in departures to 114,102 for December compared to 71,607 for the same period last year. Passenger boardings for December increased 58.6 percent to 4,466,253 compared to 2,815,678 for the same period last year.  SkyWest also reported a 63.1 percent increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for December, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 62.7 percent compared to December 2009.  The combined airlines generated 2.32 billion RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 2.99 billion. Load factor was 77.6 percent compared to 77.4 percent, up .2 percentage points compared to December 2009.   The substantial increases for each of the items are due primarily to the acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on November 12, 2010.
