SOCMA Re-elects David Hurder as Board of Governors Chairman

Five New Members Join Board

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) is pleased to announce that David Hurder , Vice President of McGean, was re-elected as chairman of SOCMA's Board of Governors during the association's 91^st Annual Business Meeting today in New York.

"I am honored to be re-elected by my peers to serve as Board Chairman and to continue the important work of providing superior programs and services to the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry," said Hurder. SOCMA members also re-elected the following slate of officers to the Board of Governors for one-year terms:

• Vice Chairman – David DeCuir , Albemarle
• Vice Chairman and Treasurer – Steel Hutchinson, GFS Chemicals
• Secretary – Susan Ostrowski , DSM
• Immediate Past Chair – Dr. Larry Brotherton , Ortec

Additionally, the following SOCMA members were elected to serve one to three-year terms:

• Charles Bennett – Dixie Chemical Company
• David Doles – Lonza
• Kate Donahue – Hampford Research
• David Fortune – KMCO
• Daniele Piergentili – BASF
