Sojourner Mobile App Helps Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Go Green with Custom Mobile Event Communication App Sita Corp's Sojourner Mobile Solution earned 50% adoption rate, saved 3,000 pages of paper
SOMERSET, N.J., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer worked with Sojourner Mobile Communications, part of Sita Corp's global data, analytics and mobile communications firm, to develop a mobile event app to improve communications, eliminate paper waste and empower volunteers in the fight against breast cancer. The customized app was created within a swift three-day development and deployment period for the organization's 20th Annual Vera Bradley Golf and Tennis Tournament fundraiser.
The mobile app improved event communications, delivered a robust 50 percent adoption rate among event organizers and volunteers, and saved an estimated 3,000 pages of paper by replacing the event's signature reference and guidelines binders for staff and volunteers.
"The Vera Bradley Foundation's goal is to raise more money to fight breast cancer by efficiently managing the largest women's amateur golf and tennis charity event in the nation," said Catherine Hill, Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Executive Director. "Sojourner's mobile app helped us achieve this goal by supporting our 'Go Green' initiative, completely replacing a dozen paper event organization binders, and providing our event organizers and volunteers with a better way to communicate and coordinate activities."
The customized app was used 1,400 times on the first day of the event, and 3,000 times by the end of the 3-day tournament by 95 organizers and volunteers, thanks to the solution's "no training needed" intuitive interface and simple four-icon design.
"We were delighted to work with the Vera Bradley team to develop this simple solution, empowering the dedicated organizers and volunteers of this important fundraising event," said Sita Corp President & CEO Rom Reddy. "Our matching 'get it done' work ethics came together to quickly and seamlessly create an app that saved paper, money and time by streamlining critical communications so organizers could focus on the successful achievement of their mission: to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer."
