South Africa Market Q3 2013 Research Reports: Telco, Tourism, Defense & Security Industry Analysis RnR Market Research adds Q3 2013 South African market research reports on Tourism, Telecommunications as well as Defense and Security industries to its store.
DALLAS, June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- South Africa Defence and Security Report Q3 2013, Southern Africa Telecommunications Report Q3 2013 and South Africa Tourism Report Q3 2013 are new market research reports by Business Montior International now available at RnRMarketResearch.com.
Southern Africa telecommunications market report (http://www.rnrmarketresearch.com/southern-africa-telecommunications-report-q3-2013-market-report.html) analyses the latest industry, regulatory and macroeconomic developments in the telecoms markets of seven countries: Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It also contains analysis of latest market data relating to the end of Q1 '13 and updated five-year forecasts to 2017 for the mobile, fixed-line and internet sectors. Key Data covered in this report: Zimbabwe's mobile penetration rate is forecast to reach 100% in 2013. Botswana is forecast to have the highest penetration rate at 145.9% at the end of 2013, while Mozambique will have the lowest 44.0%. 3G as a proportion of total mobile penetration is expected to reach double figures in four countries, the highest of which is Mauritius at 27.1%. Although internet penetration is rising rapidly due to the increasing use of mobile phones to access the web, broadband penetration still remains below 5% in most cases, held back by the high cost PCs and laptops.
The deaths of 34 miners at the Marikana platinum mine northwest of Johannesburg in August 2012 during a protest over pay highlighted the risk to South African stability posed by such socio-economic issues as income inequality, not to mention the ability of the security services to deal proportionately with mass unrest. For the time being, the ruling African National Congress (ANC) appears capable of keeping a lid on these national tensions. However, this cannot be taken for granted in the long term. Socio-economic priorities mean that the government is unlikely to deliver large funding increases to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). The government has already revealed defence spending plans for the next three years which envisage some growth in the defence budget. However, these increases are not nearly enough to enable the SANDF to meet its procurement and personnel targets, analysts are warning. Since the last quarterly tourism market report for South Africa (http://www.rnrmarketresearch.com/south-africa-tourism-report-q3-2013-market-report.html), it's Department of Tourism has released final tourist arrivals figures for 2012. These showed overseas (i.e. non-African) arrivals growth of 15.1%, to reach 2,505,762. Including African arrivals, total arrivals stood at 9,188,368, up by 10.2% y-o-y. These strong arrivals figures bear out BMI's continued optimism towards the South African tourism sector at present. Our forecasts currently call for 9% growth in arrivals over 2013, and a further 36% increase in arrivals over the 2013-17 period, to reach almost 13.3mn total arrivals.
