CARROLLTON, Ga., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwire Company has introduced
the latest version of its on-line customer ordering and self-service site that
offers Southwire distributors the most in-depth, personalized site in the wire
 and cable business.
This latest release of My Q-Service(TM) provides customers with a variety
of new functions, including the ability to check available inventory and
packaging detail before placing an order, update customer contacts in
Southwire's database, submit customer service requests, and locate real-time
product specifications in the company's comprehensive catalog. The new
functionality was introduced to customers on November 7th with additional
version releases planned over the next few months.
"We are excited about this latest version of My Q-Service," noted Winn
Wise, Southwire's Manager of Marketing. "These new features combined with the
current services-customized order template, order status, price quotes, metals
pricing as well as order entry access to more than 650 Southwire
products-provide our customers with the most complete on-line services in the
 wire and cable industry."
According to Wise, the goal of My Q-Service is to offer Southwire's
customers comprehensive e-Business options that use the latest Internet
technology to strengthen their business. "Our customers have on-line access
to all the information and ordering capabilities required to meet their wire
and cable needs," noted Wise. "The tasks which used to take hours to
complete-reviewing product catalogs, obtaining price quotes, checking
inventory availability, order status, and packaging detail, and even
submitting customer service requests-are now available at their fingertips
through My Q-Service," he remarked. "The site is unequalled in its full range
of personalized services and ease of use for the customer."
Tony Crow, director of Southwire's Information Technology Systems
(ITS)-Applications for the Wire and Cable Division, believes the most
important aspect of My Q-Service for the customer is its flexibility and
personalization. "The personalized services further simplify the on-line
process for Southwire's customers," observed Crow. "Each distributor can
customize My Q-Service to their individual requirements by designing the site
with the functions that are important to them. Southwire would never be
satisfied with a cookie cutter approach for this service, and we know our
distributors would not either," he added.
"Our goal is to continue providing Southwire's distributors with immediate
access to the resources and services they need," Crow explained. "No matter
whether a customer is checking order status, available inventory or metal
prices, researching technical information, obtaining a price quote, placing an
order, or reviewing product specifications, My Q-Service makes it quick, easy
 and convenient."
In the months ahead, Southwire plans to further expand the functionality
of My Q-Service. "We are currently working on several new releases that will
address the changing needs of our distributors," Wise noted. "As the
technology leader, Southwire will continue to provide the latest e-Business
