Spahr, previously manager of planning and development for WellPoint's Specialty Products division, has been promoted to director of the Vision business. In his new role, Spahr is responsible for all planning and the strategic direction for WellPoint's Vision products, which cover more than 900,000 members. Among the new products is Blue View Vision(TM), which is in the midst of a nationwide rollout through WellPoint's Blue Cross and Blue Shield licensed affiliates. WellPoint and its affiliates cover more than 900,000 vision enrollees through a nationwide network of more than 35,000 independent and retail providers.
