SPC Card makes 2013-14 about more than just discounts
TORONTO, July 31, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada's #1 student loyalty program is giving students more than just discounts at its retail partners for 2013-14. This year, SPC Card has an exclusive promotion for its cardholders.
On Aug 1, SPC Card and agency Mars-Philter will launch Make Your Match, an online memory game where cardholders match SPC Card's partner logos for a chance to win thousands of prizes. These include gift cards and offers from partners that will be given away daily during the six-week promotion and grand prize of $10,000 provided by BMO Bank of Montreal.
"Engaging our partners creates a win-win situation for everyone," said SPC Card President Dean Mazzariol. "Our brands get in front of the highly sought-after youth market and we give students the chance to access great products and offers for an even better SPC Card experience."
In a recent study, SPC Card found that one-third of its members wished loyalty programs gave them more of an experience than just discounts or points.
On Aug 4, SPC Card will bring Make Your Match to downtown Toronto. From 11:30am to 5:30pm, Yonge-Dundas Square will house four life-size game boards. Attendees can play to win BlackBerry Z10s, iPad mini, Beats by DRE, $500 shopping sprees and gift cards galore.
The first 50 students will also get a free SPC Card.
Smaller events and street teams will pop up on campuses in Montreal and in main shopping destinations in Vancouver and Calgary before the promotion ends Sep 14.
"This year is all about giving our members more than just discounts," said Mazzariol. "The 2013-14 card is now an exclusive pass."
SPC Card is Canada's most popular student loyalty program with over 1 million members. It offers discounts at 100+ participating retail chains including ALDO, American Eagle Outfitters, Forever 21, McDonald's, Pizza Pizza, Sport Chek, The Body Shop, Urban Outfitters and Rexall/Pharma Plus.
Students can buy SPC Cards at various retailers, online, and through their campus bookstore or high school. BMO also includes a free SPC Card with each student bank account and SPC Card benefits built into student credit cards.
