Happiness spreads through friends and family like a virus, according to research published in the British Medical Journal in December. Surprisingly perhaps, Happiness spreads three levels deep, meaning that whether you are Happy or not impacts the Happiness of your friends' friends' friends. This is according to research by Nicholas Christakis of Harvard and James Fowler of the University of California at San Diego.

In the study of indirect relationships, a person's chance of being Happier increased by 15% for every Happy friend they have, 10% for every Happy friend of a friend, and even 6% for the Happy friends of the friends of friends. ruHap's new Facebook application was built to take advantage of this phenomenon and help Facebook's over 400 million users lead a Happier life.
