LOUIS, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- St. Louis radio station WMLL 104.1 FM kicks-off the holiday season with non-stop Christmas music beginning at midnight today and continuing through December 31, 2003. With the format change, long running morning show Steve & DC will exit the station effective today. John Beck, Sr. Vice President for Emmis Communications-St. Louis, said, "I have known Steve Shannon and DC Chymes for more than 12 years and worked with them for the last seven. They are true professionals. Regrettably their show has not met our ratings expectations. I believe that Steve & DC and their crew are unique talents and will find a new home soon where they can prosper and grow. We will miss them." Although the Steve & DC show will no longer be heard on 104.1 WMLL in St. Louis, they will continue to broadcast from the Emmis St. Louis studios to the 26 markets where they have affiliated stations. They also can be heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. 104.1 "St. Louis' Christmas Music Station" will be playing all the Christmas favorites from such artists as Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Martina McBride, Nat 'King' Cole and much more. Jeff Allen, Program Director for the station, said that 104.1 FM is St. Louis' first and only station to present continuous Christmas favorites. "We were already getting all kinds of requests for Christmas music so we thought we would provide what the listeners are telling us they want; Christmas music 24/7." Each week in December 104.1 FM is giving away a trip for two to an all-inclusive Mexican resort.
