Starfire Systems® Announces Receipt of Notice of Allowance for new Patent Issuance Patent to be issued on process for preparing siloxane-based composition and pre-ceramic polymer, also known as Polyramic™

SCHENECTADY, N.Y., Feb. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Starfire Systems, Inc. (, a leader in the field of Polymer-to-Ceramic™ technology, is pleased to announce an addition to its Intellectual Property portfolio. The patent provides protection on making Polyramic™ resins (countless permutations) with all of the functional groups in one molecule. Many parameters can be controlled during the synthesis process to yield polymer with high or low viscosity, varying degree of tackiness, desired cross-linking density and ceramic yield.

In addition to forming a high temperature ceramic, the unique properties of the Polyramic ™ polymers include high transparency, high refractive index, low dielectric constant, and good thermal stability which allow them to be utilized beyond ceramic applications, such as LED encapsulation, electronic laminate board, ballistic armor plates and others.

Starfire Systems has established a reputation in various industries for their family of high temperature capable polymers that can be used as polymeric or ceramic matrix materials in advanced composites. These polymers provide customers with an alternative manufacturing technology to provide materials solutions that cannot be met via conventional materials systems.

David Devor, CEO says "This patent continues Starfire Systems' tradition and current business model of developing advanced materials that use low cost and conventional component processing and fabrication equipment and methods. The new patent is a key element of Starfire's business plan to maintain technological leadership in Polymer-to-Ceramic™ technology. The newly protected materials significantly expand Starfire's product offerings allowing us to address countless new applications in new and traditional markets."
