Start-up publisher to focus on new authors, groundbreaking fiction Boston-based Tillerman Publishing opens for business
BOSTON, Dec. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Robert Priest, artist and children's book author, announced today the founding Tillerman Publishing, a small press specializing in children's and adult literature.
Priest plans to use the imprint for publishing a new series of his own children's books. He also intends to seek out new writers in both children and adult fiction genres. Tillerman will release 3-4 new titles per year in the two genres, he said.
"Breaking into the publishing world is difficult for new writers, so I'm excited to provide another outlet for authors," said Priest.
Priest said the first title for release under the Tillerman imprint will be Sweet Holy Motherfucking Everloving Delusional Bastard, a fictional* memoir by first-time author Jerome Segundo, which will be available in paperback and Kindle versions on January 1, 2013.
Prior to founding Tillerman Publishing, Priest published three children's books with other publishers:
- The Town That Got Out Of Town (David R. Godine, Publisher)
- The Old Pirate of Central Park (Houghton Mifflin)
- The Pirate's Eye (Houghton Mifflin)
Priest also has several children's books in the works, with The People Zoo the first on the docket with a planned February 2013 release date.
