Statement by International Union of Painters and Allied Trades General President James Williams on the White House Task Force on the Middle Class
"Today, President Obama showed the country and the world that his administration is committed to giving working families every opportunity they need to get their lives up and running again in this harrowing economy. I am especially emboldened by his choice to put Vice President Biden at the helm of this monumental effort. The vice president is a long-time champion of working families and well knows the challenges, fears and frustrations we face on a daily basis. There isn't a better leader for the job.
"The men and women of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades are ready to work with President Obama, Vice President Biden and the members of this task force to rebuild America."
General President Williams joined President Obama, Vice President Biden and other labor leaders at the White House for the announcement today.
