Statement by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries - CADSI Responds to Government Announcement on Next Steps in CF-18 Replacement Process

OTTAWA, Dec. 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Tim Page , President of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), made the following statement today in response to the federal government's announcement of the next steps it will be taking in the process to replace Canada's CF-18 fighter jets:

	"CADSI strongly believes that a credible, transparent and independently verified process - as the Government has now established - will be a critical component to a successful procurement of aircraft to replace Canada's CF-18 fleet.
	"We are optimistic that the next steps in the resetting of this procurement, as announced by the Government today, will help ensure that Canada's men and women in uniform are equipped with fighters that meet their needs, while delivering value for money to Canadian taxpayers along with significant opportunities for Canada's defence and security industry, creating high-quality jobs and fostering innovation."
