Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Death of Henri Audet
OTTAWA, Nov. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - It was with sadness that I learned of the passing of Henri Audet.
Mr. Audet worked as an engineer at CBC/Radio-Canada for 10 years. He then founded the communications firm Cogeco, which he headed from 1957 to 1993.
Mr. Audet had degrees from Polytechnique Montréal and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and served as president of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters from 1961 to 1964. Appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 1984, he contributed significantly to the broadcasting and entertainment sectors.
On behalf of the Government of Canada, I offer my condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Henri Audet .
