ST. LOUIS, May 21, /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 2320 Pine St. Downtown
near the A.G Edwards/Wachovia Campus will become a state of the art shelter
due to the efforts of Stray Rescue, the St. Louis community and winning the
Grand Prize -- $1,000,000 from Zootoo.com. The contest is being sponsored
by Zootoo.com, a website pet guardians use to share information and connect
with animal lovers.
The Pine Street building was donated to Stray Rescue by A. G. Edwards
just prior to its merger with Wachovia. "It was a dream come true to
receive this 16,500 sq foot building donated to us, now with the miracle of
Zootoo and Richard Thompson, we can begin to build it out. It will change
the landscape of St. Louis and will be able to help the people and their
companion animals on a whole new level," says Randy Grim, Founder of Stray
The winner was announced live on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet
of Fox and in USA TODAY Wednesday.
Out of 1,000 shelters across America, Stray Rescue's efforts yielded
close to two million points in the Zootoo.com contest, making Stray Rescue
a finalist for the much needed million dollars for our city's homeless
"I feel like we just won the lottery, I guess we just did!" says Randy
Grim. "What a win for the animals and the City of St. Louis." A formal
celebration will be held at JackSons' Restaurant at 6655 Manchester Ave. on
May 25th when Grim returns from New York. The "pawty" gets going at 2p.m.
and a live band plays from 3-7 p.m.
