Stray Rescue of St. Louis Hits the Jackpot Winning One Million Dollars!
Zootoo.com Founder, Richard Thompson chooses Stray Rescue of St. Louis
as the million dollar shelter makeover winner!
ST. LOUIS, May 21, /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 2320 Pine St. Downtown near the A.G Edwards/Wachovia Campus will become a state of the art shelter due to the efforts of Stray Rescue, the St. Louis community and winning the Grand Prize -- $1,000,000 from Zootoo.com. The contest is being sponsored by Zootoo.com, a website pet guardians use to share information and connect with animal lovers. The Pine Street building was donated to Stray Rescue by A. G. Edwards just prior to its merger with Wachovia. "It was a dream come true to receive this 16,500 sq foot building donated to us, now with the miracle of Zootoo and Richard Thompson, we can begin to build it out. It will change the landscape of St. Louis and will be able to help the people and their companion animals on a whole new level," says Randy Grim, Founder of Stray Rescue. The winner was announced live on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet of Fox and in USA TODAY Wednesday. Out of 1,000 shelters across America, Stray Rescue's efforts yielded close to two million points in the Zootoo.com contest, making Stray Rescue a finalist for the much needed million dollars for our city's homeless animals. "I feel like we just won the lottery, I guess we just did!" says Randy Grim. "What a win for the animals and the City of St. Louis." A formal celebration will be held at JackSons' Restaurant at 6655 Manchester Ave. on May 25th when Grim returns from New York. The "pawty" gets going at 2p.m. and a live band plays from 3-7 p.m. Randy arrives in St. Louis from New York on May 21st on United Airlines Flight #8019.
