Supporting the Human-Animal Bond for Those Who Need It Most
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- You've never met Mr. Bachicha, but he and his dog, Amber, need your help. Mr. Bachicha's wife passed away earlier this year, and Amber will serve as his company and emotional support during this holiday season and in the years to come. Unfortunately, Mr. Bachicha is homebound and unable to take Amber to the veterinarian. Amber may have gone without the veterinary care she needs if not for the TVMF P.A.L.S. program, which provides free veterinary care and wellness services to Amber and the pets of other Austin residents who are homebound, elderly or disabled.
The TVMF P.A.L.S. program is a partnership between the Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation (TVMF) and the Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors (P.A.L.S.) program of Meals on Wheels and More of Austin. The purpose of TVMF P.A.L.S. is to strengthen the human-animal bond by ensuring the health and welfare of the pets of Meals on Wheels clients.
With your support, the TVMF P.A.L.S. program will be able to provide free veterinary care and wellness services to many more pets of the homebound, elderly or disabled. A $10 donation to TVMF P.A.L.S. will provide vaccines for 15 pets. By donating $25, you can provide heartworm and flea preventatives for five P.A.L.S. pets. You can provide vaccines and heartworm and flea preventatives for 10 pets by donating $50.
Visit www.tvmf.org to donate today and provide more pets with the care they need to live longer, healthier lives. The residents and pets that the TVMF P.A.L.S. program helps are often hidden from the eyes of the community but should not be forgotten. This holiday season, you can enrich the lives of these animals and the humans who love them with a donation to TVMF P.A.L.S.
