BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This week online software company SurveyGizmo announced the official opening of its first international data storage center in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Boulder, Colorado-based company opened a support office in London in April of this year, and the new data center represents the next step in its international expansion.
According to CEO and co-founder Christian Vanek, new customers of SurveyGizmo will be able to choose where they would like to have their surveys' data stored: the United States or Germany.
"This new data storage center is really all about our customers," Vanek said. "Anyone with concerns about storing information on our US servers now has another choice. We think it's important that people can choose the location that makes them totally comfortable about trusting us with their data."
Existing customers will also have the option to set up a new account with European data storage.
As part of this international expansion SurveyGizmo will also be launching a new European website to offer information to survey creators from that part of the world.
With customers in over 195 countries, SurveyGizmo's software helps create over 11,000 new surveys and collects 3.2 million responses every week.
Widgix, SurveyGizmo's parent company, was founded in 2006, and as it approaches its ten-year anniversary the timing for establishing a more robust international presence seemed apt, Vanek said.
"There are big things happening at Widgix right now. We're always looking for new and better ways to help our customers get the data they need to solve their most pressing problems. European servers are one piece of that puzzle, and we'll be putting others in place in the coming months."
Widgix, LLC was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 2006 by Christian Vanek and Scott McDaniel. The company has 63 employees and is still headquartered in Boulder, with additional offices in London, UK.
