SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CTIA WIRELESS --
Sybase 365(TM), a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), the global leader
in messaging interoperability and mobile content delivery, today announced
that MMS message delivery has increased for 11 consecutive quarters in the
United States, dating back to Q1, 2005. From Q2 to Q3, 2007, the number of
domestic MMS messages processed by the company increased by 19.5 percent;
the month-over-month average growth from January through September 2007 is
7.4 percent. By the end of 2007, Sybase 365 will have processed over one
billion MMS messages since it launched the service in 2005.
According to the research firm M:Metrics, MMS messaging is most popular
with young adults. From June through August 2007, 36 percent of consumers
aged 18-24 years, 27.2 percent of 13-17 year-olds, and 26.9 percent of
subscribers aged 25-34 sent MMS messages.
"Nearly three years of steady quarterly growth demonstrates both our
experience and leadership in the mobile messaging market," said Marty
Beard, president of Sybase 365. "The quantity of MMS messages will continue
to grow as companies increasingly rely on MMS messaging as a tool to
communicate and advertise to consumers in a more engaging manner."

delivery gateway that sends and receives MMS from multiple sources,
enabling content providers, marketers, and media companies to deliver MMS
