TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, TD Bank Group announced its call for applications for its annual scholarship program. Each year, 20 young community leaders in their final year of high school (or CÉGEP in Quebec) are selected to receive the TD Scholarships for Community Leadership, each valued at up to $70,000. TD invites applicants from across the country to share how they have made a difference or shown leadership in their community before the December 7, 2012 deadline.
"TD believes leaders can be found at every stage in life -- including young Canadians. We want to help them grow and develop," said Frank McKenna, Deputy Chair, TD Bank Group. "The TD Scholarships for Community Leadership invests in young Canadians, as well as the communities they serve and causes they support."
Each scholarship includes full tuition at any accredited university or college in Canada, mentorship opportunities, $7,500 a year for living expenses and an offer of summer employment within TD Bank Group for up to four years. The scholarship is valued at up to $70,000.
Since 1995, TD Scholarships for Community Leadership have been awarded to over 340 recipients, as part of TD's commitment to education and stronger communities. Recipients have come from small towns and big cities, and everywhere in between, having been rewarded for their leadership in a wide range of projects.
