TEMIS Intensifies Focus on US Market

TEMIS Appoints Key Executives to Further Develop US Operations and Grow its North American Business. TEMIS also Adds a New York Sales Office on top of Existing Philadelphia Operations.

NEW YORK, October 1 /PRNewswire/ -- TEMIS, the leading provider of Text Analytics solutions for the Enterprise, today announced the appointment of two key executives in New York to further expand the Company's US footprint.

"TEMIS has established robust foundations for the past two years, successfully serving several major US corporations. We are now ready to take TEMIS to the next level and consequently have appointed Guillaume Mazieres as Executive Vice President for North America," said TEMIS CEO Eric Bregand. "Guillaume has been very successfully leading our sales and marketing activities in Europe for the past eight years and I am confident he will succeed in this strategic mission," added Bregand.

"TEMIS is absolutely committed to expanding its business in the US," stated Guillaume Mazieres. "We will focus initially on serving our growing publishing business, adding to the list of such blue chip customers as Thomson Reuters, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Nature Publishing Group, and PennWell Corporation."

"I have started to build an A-player team dedicated to sales, professional services and customer support," Mazieres said. "To help us reach our goals in the publishing market, we've hired Jim Hohman, a respected industry veteran, as our Vice President of Sales, based in our New York office." Hohman's resume includes 17 years at Reuters, before the merger with Thomson Corp, where he ran sales of media information services in the Americas and globally, and more recently four years at Convera, a leading search Technology Company, where he served as Head of Sales and Business Development.

TEMIS markets Luxid(R), a collaborative corporate solution for analyzing and discovering strategic information. This powerful and scalable platform gives immediate access to non-obvious information and delivers industry-specific knowledge from internal and external data sources. It brings long-awaited answers to the challenge of information discovery and knowledge extraction from unstructured data which represent 80% of all data available in the Enterprise for decision-making processes.

"It's clear that text analytics has taken off as a hot market, and TEMIS' expansion of its US business underlines this fact," said Sue Feldman, IDC's Vice President for Search and Discovery Technologies. "As the volume and flow of information increases, publishers and corporations are turning to automation to tag their content to make it findable, to understand what their customers are saying, to monitor trends and opinions about their products and their companies. That's impossible, given the exponential growth of information that needs to be processed, unless the process is automated."

Intelligent text mining, the kind offered by TEMIS under the Luxid(R) brand, makes extensive use of semantic tagging of editorial content. "For many publishers, Luxid(R) is a strategic solution for optimizing editorial processes and for improving their users' online search experience," Mazieres said.
