Ten Cheapest Cars You Can Buy in 2013

The cars on the list have the lowest sticker price plus destination fee of all this year's new cars on the road, from the $12,870 Nissan Versa 1.6 S to the $15,515 Mazda2.

"There are truly great buys out there – terrific little cars that are priced right without giving up style, function and even some zippiness," said Tara Weingarten , founder and editor-in-chief of VroomGirls. "And there are some that you're better off just leaving on the lot."

Among those that get a thumbs-up for great value:

• Nissan Versa 1.6 S is recommended for its roominess, fuel economy and standard air conditioning and CD stereo.
• Toyota Yaris L 3-Door, at just $15,130, got a thumbs-up for its styling, build quality and standard features including an iPod compatible stereo.

And the cars on the thumbs-down list include:

• Smart fortwo Pure, while just $13,240, has its negatives, including crank-down windows and no air conditioning. Its stick-shift is designed to do both clutching and shifting for you, but that results in a herky-jerky ride.
• Hyundai Accent GLS, at $15,320, is attractive and roomy, but over-priced vs. other cars on the Top Ten list that deliver more equipment for less money.
