Texas-Based Insurance Aggregator CAA Wrote $707 Million in 2013
AUSTIN, Texas, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Combined Agents of America, LLC (CAA) continued its trend of record growth by writing more than $707.8 million in property and casualty premium in 2013, compared to some $566.7 million it wrote in 2012. CAA further produced $92 million in 2013 total property and casualty revenue. CAA is a closed managing general agency committed to strengthening the independent insurance agency system through profitable growth, quality and service with members located in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma.
"With tremendous organic and membership growth at CAA over the last 5 years, we continued this trend in 2013 by generating more than $700 million in total premium. Last year we earned the ranking as the 4th largest aggregator group in the nation according to the Insurance Journal when we reported over $550 million in 2012 total premium, this year we look to rank even higher!" said Bill Martin, CAA president and president of Grona Boles Martin Bloxsom Insurance, San Antonio, Texas.
This year brings a new addition to this insurance aggregator group's annual premium numbers. Crop insurance premium was included in calculating its annual total premium numbers, as agriculture business plays an important role in the book of business of CAA's growing group of Kansas members. In 2013, $23.4 million in crop insurance premium was included in the total CAA premium number. Moving forward CAA's annual premium numbers will include this type of business.
Without including this new addition of crop insurance premium, CAA grew some 21% through organic and membership growth in 2013 compared to the $566.7 million it wrote in 2012. The five new Kansas members that joined CAA at the beginning of 2013 brought a book of business worth $65 million in premium in 2012, which then boosted the aggregator's growth in 2013.
